The Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance exchange marketplace opened on October 1st. The marketplace aims to provide easy access to various levels of health coverage. Currently, the open enrollment period for the health insurance marketplace runs from October 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014. Come 2014, penalties will be assessed to individuals who do not carry adequate health insurance.
